# How to Create Your First Typen Blog

Creating your first Typen blog only takes a few minutes. You can sign up, choose your blog address, add a description, select a language, and pick a theme before publishing.

## 1\. Start your free account

Open the Typen homepage and select **Start Free** or **Get started**.

Choose one of the available sign-in methods:

-   Google
    
-   GitHub
    
-   Email Magic Link
    

## 2\. Complete your profile

When using **Email Magic Link**, enter your full name and choose a username.

Usernames may contain letters, numbers, underscores, and hyphens.

Select **Complete profile** when finished.

## 3\. Create a new blog

After signing in, you will see the blog management page.

Select **Create New Blog** to begin setting up your blog.

## 4\. Add your blog name and address

In the **Basics** step, enter:

-   Your blog name
    
-   Your preferred subdomain
    

Your blog address will use this format:

`your-blog.typen.blog`

Use lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens for the subdomain.

Select **Continue**.

## 5\. Add a description

In the **Details** step, write a short description explaining what your blog is about.

The description is optional, but it helps readers understand what they can expect from your content.

Select **Continue**.

## 6\. Choose your language

Select the default language for your blog.

Available options may include English, Spanish, French, German, and Hungarian.

Review the setup summary, then select **Create Blog**.

## 7\. Choose a theme

After creating the blog, open **Themes** from the dashboard.

Browse the available themes and select the design you want to use. Some themes are available only with Pro.

## You are ready to publish

Your blog is now created and available at your Typen address. The next step is to create and publish your first post.
